Wifi only mode drives me mad ...

$

Hi everybody,

Podkicker Pro drives me mad ;-)
I'm surely doing something stupidly wrong, but I can't fugure out what it is ...
Here is what I want it to do:
Download the latest 3 episodes of all my podcast subscription when it's on WiFi (I guess I've managed to do that).
Then, when I'm out and about it should build a playlistof all downloaded stuff and play oldest first - and not connect or sync any more, no streaming as well.
But when I switch on "Wifi only" it won't even play the downloaded episodes. When I open the player and hit play, it just says "Wifi only" and stops.
When I enable 3G, It mostly - not always -  says "Connecting" before it plays any episodes.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Any help is greatly appreciated !

Cheers, Stefan

Does anyone know if there is a way (via an appropriate intent perhaps) to play the latest podcast of a channel from llama?

I'd like to automatically play the most recent morning news automatically.

Feature Request: Car Mode Application Shortcut

It would be great to have an application shortcut that went directly into car mode. That way car docks or Tasker type apps could launch it into car mode.

If I start the app from my car dock in the middle of driving, I'd like it to go directly into car mode and not have to fiddle with anything. The best way for that to work would be adding a car mode shortcut to the dock app, or possibly have podkicker start/change into car mode of the phone is in Car mode.

A useful Pause/Play widget

Is it possible to have a Pause/Play button for a widget instead of what seems to currently serve as an enlarged icon?

The format can be like this: ***(podcast title) rewind / (play-pause) / ffw***

It comes really handy as I have all my audio widgets on one window.
Thank you.

Feature Request: Bring back Export + MediaScanner

In the past, my preferred flow for listening to my podcasts was this:

  1. Download episodes via Podkicker

  2. Export all downloads

  3. Run SDRescan to update the media map for MTP

  4. Connect the phone to my work computer via USB to play the downloaded files

Since my phone got upgraded to Jelly Bean, step 3 takes far too much time (15-20 minutes!).  I finally upgraded to Podkicker Pro, hoping that "ICS and Jelly Bean support" meant that exported files would be available via MTP without having to do a full rescan.  Unfortunately, I found instead that there was no more Export at all.

I tried changing Podkicker's storage directory to a directory under Podcasts/, but I still have to do a Rescan before I can copy them to my computer.  This is workable, but I miss getting the files organized like Podcasts/Podcast_name/episode_xx.mp3.

I also gave the System Download option a try, but the Download app doesn't seem to put the file anywhere accessible by the file system.  At least, ES File Explorer's search couldn't find it.

In short, please add an Export option to Pro like the one that existed in Podkicker OG.  And after the files are exported, add them to the media map for immediate availability.  I think MediaScannerConnection.scanFile will do the trick: http://developer.android.com/reference/ … ction.html

Bug Playing Podcasts

I have an issue with Podkicker Pro on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7" tablet running Android 4.1.1. When episodes are added to the playlist, I can't get any of them to play. When I hit play, there is a delay, then nothing. Sometimes, Podkicker crashes. A small blank box also displays momentarily near the bottom-center of the screen ( http://imgur.com/R3Tey0y )

I also have Podkicker Pro on my Motorola Droid Razr, but it works just fine on that device.

Issue using SDCard

I have podkicker pro and a Samsung Galaxy S4.  I change the storage location to the SDCard, but everytime the phone is rebooted, Podkicker Pro reverts the storage location back to the internal phone storage.

Is there anyway to resolve this?

Downloading this podcast will result in a "0.00B" file size.  The file appears to download and is on the local storage.  However, it will always be streamed, since it thinks it doesn't have the local file.

This has been going on for a long time, across multiple podcasts.  The problem is chronic intermittent.  Some episodes work fine, others won't work.

Also, killing the process and restarting the app fixes this sometimes, and other times it won't.

[Feature Request] Opus Support

Hi all,

I haven't tried if Podkicker Pro supports 'ogg' but I think so. Now I wanted to listen to a new podcast (Resonator Podcast/German) which cames in some flavours including Opus. Because this is open and based on 'ogg' I liked to use it. But all I get is a blue system message with no text in it.

I would recommend to add opus support or at least fill text into this empty error message.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings from Germany

Playlist stops after each episode is played

Hi,

I use Podkicker Pro on my Toshiba AT200 tablet (Android 4.0.3).
My problem is that I would like the playlist to play continuously. Instead, I have to press play after each episode is done playing.

I also use PK Pro on my smartphone with the same podcasts (Android 4.1.2). The playlist works just fine. No stop after an episode.

What should I do to fix the issue on my tablet ?

Thank you

[minor bug] Delete file selection

I'm using Podkicker Pro v1.5.4
Phone:  Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.04 (stock, non-rooted) and it's on Sprint (SPH-D710)

When I click on the trash can in the downloads section to delete files, I noticed the following behavior.

Tap Select Listened >> Selects only listened to files
Tap select all >> Selects all files
Tap Select Listened >> Remains with all files selected.

Same issue with "select old"

Once you hit "select all", hitting the other keys to change your selection (if you mis-fingered) doesn't work; the buttons are visible but not active.  The delete and cancel buttons are the only two remaining buttons that work.

Please make the select buttons work all the time, or gray them out when they are not truly an option so I know to cancel, and then press more carefully the second time.

Not enough memory

Hi
I just brought the pro version because I wanted to be able to download many podcasts and I could only download a 1 or 2 podcasts at a time with the old one. I increased the memory allocation in settings but it's still saying there's not enough room on my device. I've made sure that I have room but I get the same error message.
How do I allocate a place on my phone to download pocasts?
I have an HTC desire xe using the latest android.

[Feature Request] Bulk editing in Episodes screen

It would be wonderful if there was a way to bulk edit on the Episodes screen so that I could go through the list and quickly toggle "Listened" so they would disappear from the list view.

Otherwise, I absolutely love this app, and am very impressed with what you have done with it.

Thanks!

Can't authenticate with Flattr when signing in with Twitter

Hey there,

first of all, I'm a big fan of Podkicker Pro, but I have a problem authenticating with Flattr. I tried the following:

Settings -> Extensions -> Flattr -> Authenticate with Flattr. After that, the in-app browser shows me the Flattr login page. But I can't login directly, because my Flattr account is linked to my Twitter account. So I tried "Sign in with Twitter", which opens the external browser! Logging in to Flattr goes well, but the external brower shows me my Flattr dashboard and doesn't redirect to the authentication page. If i go back to Podkicker and want to flattr an episode, it says "Failed! You are unauthorized to access the resource".

I already tried "Forget authentication" and also tried logging in to Flattr directly with my Twitter credentials with no success. Any ideas how to get it work?

Bluetooth connection (to car) stops play after a second

$

Hi,
Loving Podkicker Pro, and been using it successfully for a while now, however I do have an issue that has cropped up because of changing the thing that I hook my phone up to via bluetooth (my car)...

Previously I used a Venturi Mini to stream my music and Podkicker from my phone to the stereo in my old car, this worked perfectly, as long as I started up Podkicker manually (otherwise the Mini would default to controlling the standard 'Play Music' app), the Venturi Mini could then take control of Podkicker, no problem.

Now I've recently bought a new car (Mercedes) that has its own built in bluetooth system.  My phone is picked up and, upon opening, 'Play Music' is fully controllable, however when it comes to Podkicker: perhaps a second or so after play the system believes playback is paused and as such no sound can be heard from the car (or phone) speakers.  Podkicker playback is not actually paused as it appears to be still playing the podcast.
Manual (via the phone) stop & starting playback doesn't change anything.  It's as if the car system has dropped connection to the phone (or vice versa).

I can "trick" the system/app by switching to the 'Play Music' app & playing a track, pausing, then switching to Podkicker and playing a podcast - but this is just a workaround and also doesn't allow the car system control of Podkicker (system still reads as if playback is paused).

I've looked here, Mercedes sites, and for some kind of app solution, but to no avail.

Any help would be gratefully received, thanks in advance.

Running both before and after change of system: Motorla Razr I, Android 4.1.2 stock rom.

[FEATURE REQUEST] Gpodder.net integration/sync

$

It very useful to use a sync service to podcasts synchronize across my devices.*  Gpodder.net is an open source community driven service in active development that many android podcast player apps already connect to.  The thing is though, I love using your app and its interface is excellent (and I want it all! smile )

They offer both a Simple API for quick integration into existing apps or an Advanced API for tight integration. Check it out: Gpodder Web Services API 2

* - After the Google Reader/Listen diaspora I tried many, many replacements.  I started down the list with the ones that had cloud sync service (feedly, digg, gpodder, aol, beta doggcatcher cloud sync, etc.) capabilities. Podkicker was one of the last apps I tried, only after I had run through all the sync capable apps in dissatisfaction.  Cloud sync is a great selling point.  (Plus you get to put the buzzword "cloud" in your app description. big_smile )

housekeeping

Housekeeping is a very broad term that encompasses the general cleaning from ceiling to the floor, to the window to the door of your house. It also includes both outdoor and indoor chores. This has something to do with giving appropriate time, effort and techniques to every fraction of the entire house.
Every corner and part of our house plays a very vital role to make our home a safer and functional place to stay. One example is the floor which serves as the walking surface. Dirt, grimes and dust easily accumulates here, thus, this requires extra effort to be cleaned.
