No show will refresh

I used the free version until yesterday with only a crash every few days that could be remedied with a system restart.  Starting 6 days ago, Podkicker refused to refresh.  I could play previous shows and manually download others as listed on the individual feeds...but nothing new.  After trying seemingly everything, I opted to get the paid/pro version.  Still...nothing.  None of my prior 15 channels will refresh, none of the newly subscribed through the Podkicker Search, and those new subscriptions show as untitled and pending refresh.  I have tried adjusting settings and further restarts.  Please advise.

Unable to stop playback after pullling out the earphones [sometimes]

This doesn't happen everytime so it's been hard pinpointing the problem but sometimes when i pull out the earphones the playback doesn't stop, when i try to pause it from the notification bar nothing happens even opening the app and pressing pause doesn't help. Sadly this only happens when i am outside so the easiest way is to restart my phone.

Phone: Moto X gen 2
Android: Lolipop (5.0)

btw i just discovered the variable speed playback option, fucking awesome!

remarks and feature requests for videocast and chromecast stick

Hi,

I'm using this program for 2 years now and I really like it, it is doing what I expect.

However, there are two features I still miss.

Videocast:
Some of my Podcasts I follow are actually videos. Importing and watching works.
But often I am not really interested in the pictures and just want the audio. When I switch to another program during playback the video stops. When I go back to podkicker it does not continue at position when I switched to another program but at the position where it started. It would be nice to be able to put video playback to the background as with pure audio.
The same happens when there is for example an incoming call. After finishing it starts at last known position and I have to search where it left.

Chromecast:
This is a cool new feature. It could be improved if the last position is also transferred to chromecast. For I podcast I listened already 10 mins start at the same position. And also the other way around, when I stop at chromecast to save the postion in podkicker.

Feature request: Bulk actions, download all not listened

Hello

When you make bulk actions for specific podcasts I now have to go through all the podcasts I have not yet listened to and click on them one by one if I have some that has already been listened to.

I would like one more action in the bulk actions of the specific podcasts so that you can download all that are not yet listened to (not marked as listened).

Slow response to headset controls

I've been using Podkicker for a long time now, and it works pretty well for me, but the past couple of months I've been getting a couple of annoying problems:

1. Quite frequently it can take anything up to 10 seconds to respond to the Play/Pause button on my wired headphones. This is really annoying as I often tend to be listening while out walking my dog, and if I stop to talk to someone I really need the pause to respond immediately - which it used to do.
2. If I pause playback for a while e.g. an hour or so, then Podkicker will not respond to the headset controls at all. I have to get my phone out, unlock it, go into Podkicker (which is still running in the background just fine as best I can tell), and manually restart playback. After that it works just fine - subject to problems listed in #1
3. Slightly minor quibble, but annoying none the less. If I pause a podcast part way through and close Podkicker, when I come back and restart playback it almost always plays the first second of the podcast before resuming at the saved location.

This is on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, running 4.4.2.

Any help please?

Suggestion: Volume normalisation/boosting

I am subscribed to a lot of podcasts, and unfortunately (for whatever reason) a couple of them seem to be recorded at very low volume. This means that unfortunately when coupled to my not exactly perfect hearing I sometimes struggle to hear what is being said if there is a lot of real-world background noise - even with the volume at full.

It would be really handy if Podkicker could run a volume normalisation on the file after it's been downloaded, or there was some option within the app to boost the volume of playback.

Podkicker Launch Icon missing (with solution)

I have Samsung Galaxy S4 for Sprint, Android 4.4.2, Podkicker Pro 2.1.3

With update 2.1.2 (Larger launch icon) I didn't notice the launch icon any bigger on my home screen.  Maybe it was such a small icon size increase (a few pixels) that it wasn't easily noticeable?  Or so I thought.

With update 2.1.3 (bugfixes) I lost the icon on my home screen.  The text was there "Podkicker Pro".  The launch action worked.  But the icon was invisible.

The fix:  I deleted it from my home screen.  I went into "All apps/all programs" whatever you want to call it.  There it was, obviously larger than before.  I drug a fresh shortcut to my phone home screen.

When the program updated, it did not update the shortcut icon.  Eventually, the cached (but now missing image) of the old icon was flushed out of memory.

Cannot start without a place to store files

I've been using podkicker for a while, I recently got a new phone , and when I install Podkicker OR Podkicker Pro, both give me the error when I try to start them: "Cannot start without a place to store files. SD-Card removed?"
Podkicker Classic will launch correctly and subscribe to and refresh feeds, but when I try to start a download it simply gives me an error. I'm assuming this is due to the same problem.
I get these errors whether or not there is actually an SD card connected.
I assume  this has something to do with KitKat not allowing files to be written to an SD card, but I can't start the app to change any of the settings suggested in this thread: http://www.podkicker.com/forum/topic/29 … 2-kitkat/, and those settings aren't available to be changed in the classic version.
Any suggestions to get any of these versions working would be great. Thanks!

too-fast playback with Bluetooth

This one's bizarre.  Everything works fine in normal operation, but when I play on any Bluetooth device (headset, speaker, etc.), the audio plays at a very high speed -- it's unintelligible.

I've unpaired & re-paired, quit the app, to no avail.

Has anyone else run into this??  Does it happen in the Pro version?

Android 4.4.2

I use Podkicker all the time & am planning to upgrade - just wondering if I'll be able to listen on a Bluetooth device.

Request: Remove next and previous buttons

Would like to have an option to hide the next and previous buttons in both car mode and regular mode. Rarely are they useful and are easy to accidently hit when trying to skip ahead or back a few seconds in a podcast.

This is the only thing about podkicker that I have problems with. I otherwise the best podcast player out there.

Feature request: category filter in episodes/download/stream

Hi Podkicker developers!

I think categorization could be improved in Podkicker. It could be a great idea to filter episodes based in previous podcast categories.

As a second request I would also simplify episodes/download/stream tabs in a unique episode tab and make it a filter from the menu.

What do you think?

Greetings,
Ruben.

Disappears from notification bar

Very often this happens to the playback controls. If I open the main app they return. Then they disappear after some time.

Can I fix this somehow?

Yes, I have a Custom ROM. But Is this an issue on stock ROMs as well?

ROM is Temasek 5.0.2 (Lollipop). Device S3.

Lock Screen Skip to next podcast

This might be a user training issue.

Podkicker Pro used to have a feature in settings to skip between podcasts when at the lock screen.  This was great while running and I was fed up with some podcast.  Since upgrading to Lollipop, I can not seem to get this working.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

PS: Podkicker is a great app!

Crashing on Galaxy Avant?

About 80% of the time I am downloading podcasts my phone crashes and reboots. It does not happen when playing or searching, only downloading. I have lived with issue through several revisions, starting with 2.1.0 - that is when I installed it on my new phone. It will sometimes be OK after the reboot, other times it will crash and reboot 2 or 3 times before it works correctly.

I have Samsng Galaxay Avant Model # SM-G386T
Android Ver 4.4.2

It's still stock and has not been rooted.
Anyone else seen this?

Hello,

I've been using Podkicker pro for a while now, but one of the podcast I'm listening too doesn't seem to be updating.

Is there a reason why?

Thanks

One NPR podcast reappears very frequently. It says 100% listened, but is not gone.  If I manually delete, it reappears?

I have the pro version, but how to transfer to new phone?

I have the pro version, and I have downloaded many podcasts that are no longer available online. I would like to get those podcasts over to my new phone.

Where on the phone is the podcasts on Pod kicker stored? If need be, I can even root to get them over to the new phone. Those podcasts are very valuable to me.
